About The Corner Pub and Grill

The Corner Pub and Grill opened the doors to our first location at Dougherty Ferry and Big Bend back in October of 2007. The great surrounding communities of Ballwin, Manchester, Fenton, Valley Park, Des Peres and Kirkwood all welcomed our Corner Pub and Grill with open arms that October. But our story began quite sometime ago...

Jon Fogarty, Owner/Operator of The Corner, and I have been through thick n' thin as best friends since meeting in 3rd grade at Henry School in 1981. We attended Parkway West Jr., played St. Clare of Assisi soccer together for 6 years with another good friend of ours and future owner of The Corner Pub and Grill, Dan Nassif. We continued our education at Parkway West Sr , where we still played soccer, actively involved in DECA and FBLA, and Jon met his high school sweet heart and now wife, Laura. (I set them up and she still holds a grudge against me for it!)

Time passed and things changed for all of us out of high school... off to college, marriage, kids so-on and so-on. But one idea, one passion of Jon and I remained constant... we loved the restaurant business. In early 2007 we began to develop our concept of creating a NEW type of neighborhood pub and grill for West County. ( I keep on saying "we" cause it makes Jon feel better but it was my idea... had to get that jab in there!) We wanted to create a neighborhood pub and grill to where you could enjoy a Soulard / Downtown Tavern feel in our shotgun bar, a comfortable cozy bite to eat on our dining side of the restaurant, a get together with friends and family in our private dining area, or one of the many great St. Louis nights in the beer garden and of course big LCD/LED t.v's in all those areas to watch your favorite sporting event. We wanted our burgers and chicken sandwiches to be the best on the block, our appetizers to be so big and delicious you would want it as a main course, our brick-oven pizza to be like no other pizza before. Well what we wanted was not another "cookie cutter" neighborhood pub and grill.

Sooooo...

...John Cain (past employer of mine and owner of The Country Club), Brian Benson and Pat McNichols (my Brother n Laws) plus good friends and fellow PWest grads Dave Owesns, John Greeson and Drake Owens joined in as part of ownership group. Money loaned from our generous and believing fathers, Jim Baldanza and Tom Fogarty... and THE CORNER PUB AND GRILL was born!!!

We could not be happier with our progress over the last 2 ½ years. Hands down The Corner has the BEST customers in St. Louis, we are so fortunate to be part of such a great community and neighborhood that loves having us and we love being there. Our employees have become friends and family inside and outside the pub and we believe that bond developed by our staff shows in the amount of pride and quality we have in service, food and cleanliness of the restaurant upon your visit.

Customers, friends, and family's overwhelming positive response to our Dougherty Ferry/Big Bend location inspired us to open our new location at Clarkson and Clayton road in Fountains Plaza (right next to LIFETIME FITNESS). We have received such enthusiasm and excitement about our new location from the great communities of Chesterfield, Ellisville, Wildwood, and Clarkson Valley and we are just as excited to be there. Those family bonds that I mentioned above influenced us to have some key employees become owner/operators of the new location. Stephanie Crothers, Natalie Ramlow-McGraw, Charlie Winkler aka Mr. Wonderful, and Tim Kimmel aka Switzerland all are part owners of our new location and I could not be more flattered that they want to be part of our future endeavors.

My parents always told me since I was little to be the BEST of what I do. Well, while I don't feel by myself I am the BEST of what I do. I do feel that together with Jon, the employees, and my family we are one of the BEST of what we have created. It is our promise that we will strive every day to raise the bar and our expectations so you can feel like you had the BEST experience while visiting and being part of our family at The Corner Pub and Grill.
